Couples and Marriage Counseling

I support the both of you and yet I am on neither of your side. I side with the growth and love of your relationship. I side with the goals that you will present to me. I will be gentle and kind while remaining direct and open in order to do my best to guide you to a relationship that you are excited to be a part of. Just like the two of you created the issues (yes, despite the fact that you are probably blaming the other person for the bulk of the issues) the two of you are also very capable of correcting the issues and steering your relationship to a place of safety, comfort, understanding, and peace.

Common Issues: Communication Issues, Feeling Misunderstood, Unable to Understand Your Partner, Settling and Accepting Differences, Household Chores, Finances, Parenting Differences, Trust Issues, Sex Issues, Religious and/or Cultural Differences

Parenting and Parent-Child Relationship

This is a wonderful, though sometimes very complicated, relationship. Balancing your own feelings and thoughts with another human being. Bombarded with so much information from the media, books, friends, family on how to do things “correctly” often feeling like a failure in one aspect or another. There is no criticism here. I want to help you to navigate the issues that are arising for you when it comes to parenting your child. And I want to empower you to understand and stand-up for your own values around parenting outside of the influence of others. Whether you are looking for practical tips in discipline, help with getting your child to sleep through the night, having your own conflicting feelings towards your child, sibling rivalry, to build a deeper connection with your child and everything in between, I am here to help.

Post-Partum Depression

This is a difficult pill to swallow. Expecting a complete different outcome when having a newborn baby but instead feeling everything that you never thought you would experience. About 1 out of 7 mothers in the USA will experience anxiety or depression following a child’s birth. So, you’re not alone, not that it makes you feel any better. I offer at home visits for mothers with newborns and infants. You do not need to find a babysitter for at home visits unless you want to. We can manage with the baby present if that is your preference. You are not broken and your feelings do not impact the love that you know you have for your baby even if it’s not felt. These feelings won’t last forever and I will be there to support you until you won’t need me anymore.
